G’day, I’m Paul. My story isn’t just about running and photography—it’s about capturing authentic moments, big and small, and the powerful emotions behind them. I founded Perfect Wave Gallery in 2004, followed by The Sunday Long Run in 2020, both driven by my passion for storytelling through images.
Running has been my lifelong companion, providing escape, balance, and clarity. It’s never been about speed or distance; for me, it’s always been about simply showing up, especially when life is challenging. After completing three marathons and three Ironman Triathlons, I've come to deeply understand the profound moments of decision that running creates—moments that truly define who we are.
Throughout my corporate career, I faced anxiety and burnout head-on. Running and photography became my sanctuary. Each stride and each click of the shutter offered clarity amidst chaos, teaching me to stay present and embrace each moment.
My photography captures moments as though seen for the first time, highlighting genuine, unstaged emotion. Having experienced firsthand the journey of pushing through barriers and doubts, I strive to reflect real, raw humanity in every image. My goal is simple yet powerful: inspire people worldwide to move, believe in themselves, and embrace their personal journeys.
My goal with The Sunday Longrun is to spread the joy of running globally and inspire movement. I want my photos to encourage people to get active and achieve their goals, embodying the spirit of #getupgetoutgetitdone.
It’s the community—the athletes, families, brands, and events—that truly fuels my passion. The connections running creates among people from all walks of life inspire me daily, and my greatest joy is capturing those unique moments of connection.
Friends and family often say I have a knack for being in the right place at the right time, making people look their best. That’s what I strive for—being present and capturing the perfect moment.
If you're looking to authentically capture your story—your moments of triumph, resilience, or simple joy—let’s connect. I take on limited projects each year, prioritising stories that truly inspire. I’d be honoured to bring yours to life.
My family—my wife Chris, and my sons Josh and Ben—remain my deepest motivation and inspiration, reminding me daily why these moments matter.
